Safety is the top priority on every Holt Services job site. Our team works proactively to maintain high safety and health standards through extensive training, preventive planning, onsite safety audits, and constant communication.
Holt Services’ full-time Safety Director, Sean Sewell, leads a comprehensive safety program designed to provide a safe workplace for all employees, comply with all state and federal regulations, and reduce or eliminate recognized hazards on every drilling project.
Site-specific safety plans
A site-specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) is developed for every drill site. This plan identifies potential hazards, outlines control measures, and prepares the crew for the conditions, regulations, and client requirements specific to that project.
Ongoing safety audits
Our full-time safety director conducts an average of three to five site safety audits each week to reinforce a strong safety culture and verify compliance with both client and internal standards. Audit reports are available to clients upon request at no additional cost.
Proven EMR safety ratings
Holt Services maintains Experience Modification Rates (EMR) well below the industry average of 1.0, reflecting a strong safety record and effective risk management:
• 2025: 0.71
• 2024: 0.77
• 2023: 0.69
These EMR ratings indicate fewer and less severe incidents compared to similar contractors, which can help reduce project risk and insurance-related costs.
Commitment to zero incidents
Our safety director and drilling teams are committed to following all applicable safety requirements, including client-specific protocols and Holt Services’ internal procedures. Failure to follow established safety practices can put people at risk and cause costly project delays, including full work stoppages at federal sites while investigations and corrective actions are completed.
