• Cleans and prepares construction work sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Reads and interprets plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
• Excavate, backfill excavations, and compacts and levels earth to grade specifications, using heavy equipment, picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
• Measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
• Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Follows company and industry safety rules, practices and procedures.
• Controls traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
• Gather tools, equipment, and materials needed to perform jobs
• Assist with loading, unloading, and preparing construction equipment for jobs.
• Complete daily written activity reports

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Driver’s license; CDL preferred
• Willing to work various shift schedules, including nights and weekends, when required by client
• Ability to travel to various project and work sites as needed.
• Experience with machines and tools used in construction, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to follow all health and safety requirements and guidelines.
• Ability to work as a team to carry out assigned tasks.
• Ability to complete a background check

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Works outdoors at remediation sites in all weather conditions.
• Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries heavy objects, machinery and tools up to 80 pounds.
• Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending and handling of materials, equipment and tools.
• Must wear appropriate safety equipment, as required by the company.

We’re looking for a safety leader who understands that effective safety management goes beyond policies and procedures. It requires field engagement, practical experience, strong relationships, and a genuine commitment to the people preforming the work.

The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable working alongside field crews, conducting safety audits, coordinating employee training, and collaborating with leadership to strengthen our safety culture.

• Field Safety & Employee Engagement: Conduct regular jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments while working directly with field crews to promote safe work practices.
• Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, enforce, and continuously improve company wide health and safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and other federal and state safety regulations.
• Employee Training/Onboarding: Coordinate new hire safety orientations, 40 hour HAZWOPER training, annual refreshers, and other required training while maintaining employee certification records.
• Incident Prevention & Investigation: Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and communicate lessons learned.
• Worker’ Compensation & Risk Management: Coordinate injury claims, return to work programs, insurance communications, and monitor safety performance.
• Safety Leadership & Communication: Collaborate with management and field personnel to establish safety goals, support project specific safety requirements, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant occupational health and safety experience, preferably in drilling, construction, environmental services, or related industries.
• CHST, ASP, or equivalent recognized safety certification
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and State requirements
• Experience conducting safety audits, managing safety programs, and coordinating employee training
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and build productive relationships with field personnel and management
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites throughout Washington State

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
• Experience in environmental, geotechnical drilling, remediation or heavy equipment operations.
• Experience coordinating HAZWOPER training compliance
• Familiarity with workers’ compensation, EMR tracking, and return to work programs
• Knowledge of DOT commercial vehicle safety requirements
• Experience managing safety initiatives across multiple crews and locations
